We’ve all seen NES consoles that have turned yellow over the years, but why does this happen? 

Yellowing occurs on certain consoles from the ‘80s and ‘90s due to the use of ABS plastic. The addition of a flame retardant to the plastic for safety purposes led to the plastic yellowing over time - but the process can be reversed!

De-Yellowing is a special service for consoles and peripherals which are made with ABS plastic, like the NES, SNES and GameBoy.  Save Scum Restore uses a combination of lab grade chemicals and UV light to restore your console or controller to its original color. During this service your console will be completely disassembled, dusted and thoroughly cleaned with attempted removal and prevention of any corrosion.
